July Currently

I just can't seem to get in a blogging routine! I hope that once school starts back the creative juices will be flowing! I'm linking up with Farley for the July currently!

LISTENING: I love the silence in my house right now. Hubby is sleeping, the dogs are sleeping, and the TV is off. - Just as I started typing this, the neighbors started to mow so I guess it isn't so silent anymore :(

LOVING: I have been wanting a KitchenAid mixer for a very long time! On Monday, I finally broke down and purchased one from Macy's (they were having a sale) and I couldn't stop myself. As soon as it arrived I pulled it out of the box and set it on the counter!
Isn't it LOVELY!  It's their "tangerine" color. I LOVE orange just as much as I love this mixer!

THINKING: My last day of school was June 15, I think I have been at school at least 10 days since then. My teammate, myself, and the media specialist are working on building a guided reading room. Right before school ended everyone brought down all their guided reading books. We have spent hours labeling and bagging; now we are in the process of getting all the bags catalogued and placed in bins. As if I am not at school enough, I just can't stop thinking about my classroom setup this year. This is going to be my second year in first grade. I took the plunge and I'm switching from desk to tables. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE WONDERFUL!

WANTING: Last year, my hubby and I went to visit his parents at the beach for the entire week of July 4th. This year he has to work so I'm stuck at home. I need a long vacation of nothing but the pool and a float!

NEEDING: Yesterday we started a summer deep clean. I don't think I have ever thrown so much stuff away. We didn't quite finish and need to continue today, but the hubster is sleeping so I think I'll wait until he gets up so he can help :)

ALL STAR: Procrastination is my thing! It is a known fact that I work better under pressure. In middle school, I had to prove it to my mom. I started working on a paper about a week before it was due, brought home a C. The next time I waited until the night before it was due, brought home an A. After that, I have waited until the last minute ever sense :)

  2. My mind is on the same thing.... Classroom set up! I love rearranging my room each year and changing things around that I wasn't so crazy about the previous year. I'm right there with ya on the beach trip! Enjoy the rest of your summer!

  3. Hey Whitney...I would love to help you figure out how to incorporate science and reading. I help my teachers do this all the time. There are great picture books out there and also some great free projectable books I can link you up with. Can you email me your major science concepts and I can share books and links...I would be glad to also send you some reading and writing ideas for your grade, too! Email me at rheinric@wausauschools.org
